Ohev Shalom's Facility

 The Sanctuary

The sanctuary’s prayer space is designed  to express the sense of community that we value in Ohev Shalom. Here we celebrate Shabbat with our Friday evening and Shabbat morning services. Throughout the course of the year, we celebrate our B'nai Mitzvah (Bar and Bat Mitzvahs), baby namings, weddings, Consecration of students in our Aleph Class, Confirmation of our tenth grade class, our Adult B'nai Mitzvah and more. Our Pre-School and Kindergarten children come to the Sanctuary for a special Kabbalat Shabbat program every Friday, and our Religious School Students fill the Sanctuary every Sunday morning for their morning Tefillah - prayer service. Please feel welcome to join us for our Shabbat services Friday evening and Shabbat morning, our Sunday morning Minyan and our weekday evening Minyan.

The Rothman Education Building

Children and education have long been at the center of the values and commitments of Ohev Shalom. In 1997, Ohev Shalom dedicated its new state-of-the-art Rothman Family Education Building. The facility houses the synagogue’s Pre-School, elementary Religious School, High School of Jewish Studies and the Beyt Midrash, Adult Judaic Learning Center. In addition to its 13 spacious and bright classrooms, the school building houses the Bennett Zion Feld Memorial Library and the Amy Rockower Art Center, which is equipped with a kiln and other supplies for the school's art program. On the second floor is the spacious Youth Lounge. Ohev Shalom has long been proud of its dynamic Youth Program which includes three youth groups and is annually recognized for its outstanding programming and excellence.

The Social Hall

We recently renovated the Social Hall. It is mainly used as a reception room for Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations, weddings, and other functions. The Social Hall can seat up to 320 people at 60 round tables, and is a beautiful room when fully set up. The Social Hall is adjacent to the Goldberg Kitchen which is equipped with everything that a caterer needs to throw a party: heavy duty convection ovens, an 8 burner industrial gas stove, commercial dishwasher, walk-in refrigerator, etc.

 Founder's Hall

In addition, for smaller functions, we have the Founder's Hall in the original part of the building adjacent to a second kitchen. The Founder's Hall was recently renovated and is the home of special services, and smaller affairs, seating over 200 theater style and about 100 around tables.

The Library

The Bennett Zion Feld Memorial Library houses a large collection of books for the Pre-School, Religious School, and the entire congregation. We also recently renovated our bridal room, where wedding parties and bar and bat mitzvah families can get ready for their special occasions.
