Ohev Shalom College Connection

Mazal Tov Graduates and families!  Share the simcha with a contribution to the Ohev College Connection Fund, so that our College, Graduate and Professional students can continue to receive holiday gifts and e-mails from Ohev Shalom.  Our students are important to us even when they are away from home, and we want to stay connected with them. Our committee operates only with donated funds; we do not use synagogue money for our mailings.  Your contributions enable us to send gifts! We also ask that ALL NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS register for College Connection – even if you registered this year! - as soon as you have your FALL MAILING ADDRESSES. If you have GRADUATED, are no longer in school, or are STUDYING ABROAD, please let us know by e-mailing ohevcollegeconnection@comcast.net.  We will send e-mails abroad but not packages. As soon as your college, grad or professional student receives her/his mailing address for the coming year, please register for the Ohev Shalom College Connection. EVEN IF YOUR STUDENT IS NO LONGER A FRESHMAN, you need to register each year. 

The College Connection sends the kids token holiday gifts and e-mail messages about Jewish holidays and Ohev happenings so that they still feel a part of the Ohev community.  Last year’s favorites were Starbucks cards for the beginning of the year, dreidels and gelt for Hanukkah, trail mix for Tu Bishvat, lottery tickets for Purim. 

TO REGISTER, use the online form below.  Your student’s contact info is sent directly to us.  Please remember to notify us when your student has GRADUATED or is STUDYING ABROAD.  Students who are abroad will continue to receive e-mails but we do not send packages overseas.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR A VERY EASY TASK:  Packing up and shipping the gifts is so much easier when there are a few people working together.  All it takes is an hour or so every few months.  We gather at one of our homes over coffee and dessert and set up an assembly line and the job is done before we know it.  Great ideas always emerge for our next gift.  Please let us know if you can help with this aspect of College Connection.

We are able to send gifts to our students BECAUSE OF YOUR GENEROSITY.  Please think of the College Connection Fund when you want to celebrate a simcha or remember someone special.  This is our fourth year as chairs and we are so grateful for your continued support.
